memories...

my grandfather died a few days ago. I drove all the way home from Minnesota to go to the funeral and the family gathering. Needless to say, it was very difficult. I miss him a lot, and it was hard to watch my grandmother although she was incredibly strong. I can't imagine losing someone after 64 years of marriage. Heartbreaking.

I'm just kind of sad right now, but going back to Eau Claire tonight will be wondeful I'm sure. See you all soon.

so close...

I can't wait to get back to EC. The summer was nice...made good money, worked w/good people, and overall had a good time, but you just can't replace the people you live with all year. It's going to be nice to have some girls to hang out with again also. I love the Benchwarmerz, but being w/6 guys all summer is enough to drive you crazy.

Life is overall really good...trombone still needs lots of work, but everything else is kind of just falling into place for me. I made enough to pay tuition, rent and food bills this summer, so thats always a good start.

My birthday was great, even though it was away from home. Becker's parents took us out to dinner at a very nice place and even bought me a birthday card. Later that week, my parents and sibs came up for a brief 2 day visit. They came to Valleyfair, and met Becker's folks. It was a really nice time.

Basically, I had a good summer, but now it's time to get back to civilizat...I mean, school. Miss you all, can't wait to see you.
